Well, after WWE has already released anthologies on their other 3 major events…it’s time for the final one in their “Big Four” being the Survivor Series. This first Volume is from the early years of the event where the heavy focus was on strickly having tag team elimination matches with wrestlers teaming together based off common hatred for others on the opposite team…to the point where there is only one match on here that wasn’t a tag team elimination match. Now keep in mind that I’m doing my reviews from either the VHS version with the unedited event or a replay I caught off WWE Classics On Demand.

1987 – This is going to be a treat for those who already have this event on video because if you remember, the VHS version was edited down to 2 hours there so here you get the full event. This was historic in many ways as this event marked the first ever Survivor Series and also the fact that this PPV ran on the same night as NWA’s Starrcade event (which caused Starrcade to be bumped off many cable networks). The main event featured Andre The Giant, One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy, Butch Reed, Rick Rude vs. Hulk Hogan, Paul Orndorff, Don Muraco, Ken Patera, Bam Bam Bigelow that’s remembered for it not only being the first time Hogan & Andre were in the ring for a match since WrestleMania III but the outstanding performance of Bigelow that puts a stamp on the label he’s gotten as “one of the best ‘big men’ in wrestling.” Also on here is the first ever 20 man tag team elimination match with 5 tag teams on each team & other matches feature Randy Savage, Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Brutus Beefcake, Jim Duggan vs. Honky Tonk Man, Hercules, Danny Davis, Ron Bass, Harley Race…and an all womens match featuring teams headed up by Faboulous Moolah & Sensational Sherri. There were only four matches here but each one went around 20 mins. (the tag went almost 40 mins.) and was all quality in their own right.

1988 – Just like the 1987 edition, the 1988 edition was also edited down on the VHS (only the tag team & main event were shown in full) so this is the first time it’s been released unedited. The main event here was Mega Powers, Hercules, Koko B. Ware, Hillbilly Jim vs. Twin Towers, Ted DiBiase, Haku, Red Rooster in a match that continued so many ongoing feuds (Hogan/Boss Man, Hercules/Dibiase) & storylines at that time (problems between Heenan & Rooster, the continued tease of jealously between Hogan & Savage over Elizabeth). Also on here was the final WWE appearence of the Dynamite Kid along with the PPV debut of Shawn Michaels in a 10 man tag team elimination match that’s mostly memorable for what happened during the match between Mr. Fuji & Demolition & Powers Of Pain resulting in (to my knowledge) the first double turn in WWE history. Other matches include Rick Rude & Harley Race & Dino Bravo & Mr. Perfect & Andre the Giant vs. Jake Roberts & “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan & Tito Santana & Ken Patera & Scott Casey…Ultimate Warrior & Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake & The Blue Blazer & Sam Houston & Jim Brunzell vs. Honky Tonk Man & “Outlaw” Ron Bass & Greg “The Hammer” Valentine & “Dangerous” Danny Davis & Bad News Brown.

1989 – This was a Survivor Series first as this was the first time they started naming the teams. One of the main events was the Hulkamaniacs vs. Million $ Team which was real disappointing since the match seemed heavily one-sided (even Ventura pointing it out on commentary) and the main showdown that was being built up here between Hogan & Zues being the way it was (or wasn’t, depending on how you want to look at it). The other main event was the Ultimate Warriors vs. The Heenan Family that’s more remembered for the backstage story with Arn Anderson and, more importantly, Tully Blanchard that ended up seeing Bobby Heenan wrestling here instead of Blanchard…however this was a great showcasing of Anderson being the workhorse that older fans remember him for. Other matches include Roddy’s Rowdies vs. Rude’s Brood that was entertaining down the commentary where Jesse Ventura kept attempting to say the name of Piper’s team but just couldn’t get it right, Dream Team vs. Enforcers that was a solid match, and the King’s Court vs. 4×4’s in another solid match that was highlighted by the interaction with Randy Savage facing off against Bret Hart. The only real negative I can say here is that how the monster heels were eliminated in the main events were very disappointing.

1990 – This Survivor Series debuted three new ideas into WWE with one turning out to be one of the greatest superstars in the history of the WWE. One new idea WWE introduced here was that the surviving faces of the elimination matches would meet the surviving heels in a “Grand Finale Match Of Survival.” Also during this PPV, a huge egg that was seen on WWE TV for weeks finally hatched (to the crowd’s boos) to reveal the Gooblygooker (Hector Guerrero). One of the main events here featured The Warriors vs. The Pefect Team which saw the Demolition vs. Legion Of Doom fight that longtime WWE/NWA fans wanted to see. The other main event was the Hulkamaniacs vs. The Natural Disasters in a solid match. Other matches included the Vipers vs. the Visionaries where history was made as it was the first time an entire team survived, the Alliance vs. Mercenaries in a short one-sided match, and a match with the Dream Team vs. The Million $ Team that had an outstanding battle between Ted Dibiase vs. Bret Hart but more importantly, this PPV featured the dominate debut of The Undertaker. Another note to make on here is that eventhough Randy Savage didn’t wrestle on the card, he did make an appearence for an interview.

1991 – The PPV had the nickname “The Gravest Challenge” in reference to the first ever non-elimination match as Hulk Hogan defended the WWF Championship against the then-undefeated Undertaker that saw Ric Flair make an appearence leading to Taker winning his first WWE Championship. The other main event on here was the Legion Of Doom & Big Boss Man vs. Natural Disasters & I.R.S. which was as good as you expected it to be with the bigger story being that after teasing Randy Savage of being reinstated & returning to the ring against Jake Roberts in this match…WWE decided to just remove Jake Roberts from this match and hold off their match for the “Tuesday In Texas” PPV reducing both men’s roles on this show to just having an interview. This event also marked the WWE PPV debut of Ric Flair (pay REAL CLOSE attention to what belt he wears to the ring…you’ll get a chuckle out of it) in the match of the night with Ted DiBiase, Mountie, Warlord vs. Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, British Bulldog, Virgil that was filled with comedy, brawling, and straight wrestling (with one very comedic moment between Piper & Sherri) that was only hurt by how the match ended. Other matches on here include “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan & Sgt. Slaughter & “El Matador” Tito Santana & “Texas Tornado” Kerry Von Erich vs. Colonel Mustafa & Hercules & The Berzerker & Skinner that was a one-sides squash with this becoming the second time an entire team survived….and Rockers & Bushwackers vs. Beverly Brothers & Nasty Boys that was all about the continued tease of problems between Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty. This edition of the Survivor Series was is easily the worst edition on this set as this PPV was really just an informercal to promote another PPV that WWE was having less than a week later. The two main attractions that people wanted to see for this event were nothing more than bait to have you turn into that event & WWF seemed to put more focus into that “Tuesday In Texas” event than their yearly tradition of Survivor Series because alot of the matches weren’t as good in quality as the years before with some booking that just looked stupid in the end. At least watching this on tape years later, you know what these plot twist are & how the event shaped up afterall but this year’s Survivor Series was just a plain disappointment.

So overall, if your a heavy fan of the elimination matches then this is the set for you to check out as the first three years were excellent quality while the 1990 edition was solid with some questionable booking when it came to some of the eliminations and the 1991 edition was weak minus the opening elimination match & Taker/Hogan for the WWE Title so I recommend this volume.

Overall, this was a pretty good set, but I noticed one little change on the 1989 SS set, one that I only noticed because I have the PPV version on VHS from years back and sued to watch it all the time, to the point that I nearly memorized some of the commentary. The pre-match interviews with The Rude Brood and The Ultimate Warriors are NOT the same ones from the PPV. While I at first thought they were edited, it was obvious they used different takes from the ones shown 20 years ago – confirming what I think many of us already knew, that most of the interviews are scripted and pre-taped.

Republic Entertainment should be indicted for cultural crimes since they refuse to release first-generation prints of Max and Dave Fleischer’s “Color Classics” series. As a result of this neglect, VCI and Kit Parker Films have compiled “Somewhere in Dreamland” – a fine collection of public-domain Fleischer cartoons from 1934 to 1941. Most of the “Color Classics” are represented in this two-DVD set, with the print quality ranging from excellent to poor. The series contains several Fleischer gems, including Betty Boop’s “Poor Cinderella” (1934), “The Kids in the Shoe” (1935), “The Cobweb Hotel” (1936), “All’s Fair at the Fair” (1938) and “Ants in the Plants” (1940). Though influenced by the success of Disney’s “Silly Symphonies,” the Fleischer spirit is evident in many “Color Classics,” particularly the lesser-known entries such as “Chicken Ala King” (1936), “A Car-Tune Portrait” (1936) and “Hold It!” (1937). The DVD set also features two Oscar-nominated shorts, “Educated Fish” (1937) and “Hunky and Spunky” (1938), which are enjoyable but do not represent the Fleischers’ best work. Until Republic gets its act together, “Somewhere in Dreamland” will remain the definitive “Color Classics” collection and is highly recommended to aficionados of vintage animation.

This collection represents a quest to track down every one of the 36 Fleischer Studios `Color Classics’ cartoon series. There are 35 of them on these two disks. One of the `Color Classics’, “Time For Love” has only survived in a single black and white print found in Europe (this was seven years ago and a color version has since turned up). The only `Color Classics’ cartoon not included is “Tears Of An Onion” which is explained as not being here because “it is under copyright and therefore not in `public domain’” This explains a lot because obviously Jerry Beck and company are on a budget. Despite the poor condition of some of the prints included here, there are two processes that I know of that are used to transfer film to video and/or digital; one is a frame-by-frame reader that takes the image directly off of the film for maximum clarity and color but it is a tedious process and is costly. Look at the excellent Disney collection of `Silly Symphonies’ if you want to see how it should be done. The second process which seems to be used by all other DVD/VHS collections of cartoons I’ve seen, including this one, is projecting the film onto a reader screen that will inevitably shave a little off the top, bottom and sides of the image and loses some image and color integrity. The result is one we cartoon affectionados are becoming used to in VHS and DVD collections, kinda dark and kinda fuzzy and it makes you wish you could have been there at the theater at the time. But for now this is all we’re going to get. I’ve watched this one several times now anyway though.

In regards to the uneducated 2.35:1 zealot reviewer, as a Director of Photography, I can state unequivocally that 2001 is supposed to be in 2.20:1 aspect ratio. It was shot in 2.20:1. It was not shot in Cinemascope (or anamorphic Panavision), which is 2.35:1. It was shot with straight lenses in Super Panavision 70 (65mm negative, 70mm projection print with soundtrack). Super Panavision 70 is a 2.20:1 aspect ratio format. When you are watching a 70mm print in a theater you are watching 2.20:1, which was never as wide as the anamorphic formats. Learn your aspect ratios.

Not to mention the fact that Kubrick went to the extraordinary effort of exposing his special effects composite shots as successive passes on the original undeveloped 65mm negative (after it being held sometimes in refrigeration for up to a year or more waiting for the next pass) so that all the composite visual elements are first generation on the original camera negative, rather than the cheaper and more common optical composite dupe negative inserts. Amazing. That is why it looks as good as it does. No optical negative generations.

A Beautiful Film…and one of the best executions of the 70mm format ever.

A true Visual Masterpiece.

With many fans disappointed following the release of the third “Star Trek” film in 1984, “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock”, Paramount Pictures produced one of the best “Star Trek” films of all time in 1986: “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home”. Returning to the director’s chair for what was only his second directorship of a big-screen motion picture was Leonard Nimoy, but this time, Nimoy had much better material to work with from the films many writers. Nimoy (who actually took on-screen credit for writing) worked with returning writer Harve Bennett to write a brilliant story, and Bennett worked on the screenplay along with three additional writers: Steve Meerson, Peter Krikes and Nicholas Meyer (who directed the highly successful “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn” in 1982). Under the watchful eye of Gene Roddenberry, these men were able to recapture the spirit of the original “Star Trek” television series more than any other preceding or proceeding “Star Trek” film.

Having restored Spock’s (Leonard Nimoy) life via the Genesis planet and a return to the planet Vulcan during the third film, the crew of the lost U.S.S. Enterprise now waits on Vulcan for repairs on their captured Klingon scout-class ship, as well as for Spock to retrain his mind, before returning to Earth to face various charges for having disobeyed orders. The crew includes Admiral James T. Kirk (William Shatner), Dr. Leonard ‘Bones’ McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Commander Montgomery ‘Scotty’ Scott (James Doohan), Commader Hikaru Sulu (George Takei), Commander Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig) and Commander Uhura (Nichelle Nichols). The Klingons are also very angry with Kirk as expressed by the Klingon Ambassador (John Schuck) to the Federation President (Robert Ellenstein) in front of the full Federation Council, but the cool logic of Vulcan Ambassador Sarek (Mark Lenard) prevails. While on Vulcan, Spock gets to spend time with his human mother, Amanda (Jane Wyatt, who once played his mother in the 1967 “Star Trek” television series episode “Journey to Babel”). Also, a brief appearance is made by Lt. Saavic (Robin Curtis), who unfortunately never returns in any other “Star Trek” film. With their Klingon ship ready for departure, Spock and his Enterprise shipmates begin their voyage to Earth; but unknown to them, a bizarre space probe also en route for Earth has been wreaking havoc on any ship that approaches it. Arriving at Earth first, the probe turns Earth’s atmosphere into chaos as it waits for a signal that the Federation cannot discern. Receiving a planetary distress call from Earth, Spock identifies what the probe wants: communication with long extinct whales. To save Earth, Kirk makes the decision for them to travel back in time to bring back whales to the present.

“Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home” has more memorable scenes than could be mentioned here, but some of the best include: McCoy’s conversations with Spock, the crew on the streets of twentieth-century San Francisco, Uhura and Chekov looking for nuclear vessels, McCoy and Scotty visiting the production facility, Kirk & Spock on a city bus, Kirk & Spock’s conversations with Dr. Gillian Taylor (Catherine Hicks), Kirk’s dinner with Gillian, and McCoy with Kirk & Gillian at the city hospital. Everyone’s acting (including Shatner) was very good for this film, but what makes this film stand out from the rest is the emphasis on all of the original crew members. Each of the crew members have time on screen, contribute to the story and have a reasonable amount of dialog. Other familiar “Star Trek” characters have cameos in the film: Dr. Christine Chapel (Majel Barrett) and Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney). Another cast member in this film who later plays a pivotal role in the sixth “Star Trek” film is Admiral Cartwright (Brock Peters).

Overall, my rating of for “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home” is a resounding 5 out of 5 stars. This film, along with the 1982 film “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn” and the later 1996 film “Star Trek VIII: First Contact”, are the three best films ever made of the franchise; but this film will always stand out as being the most humorous, having the best & most memorable dialog and having the greatest spirit of the three. I highly recommend it to everyone who, in any form, has liked “Star Trek”.

Star Trek IV The Voyage Home, in my opinion, is clearly one of the best out of the TOS six. Although not as high in the suspense aspect, like Leonard Nimoy says, it was good to lighten up a bit and have a good time with Star Trek. While other reviewers might feel the humurous aspects of this film wearout after repeated viewings. I understand that statement, but don’t feel the same. I can still get a laugh out of these scenes even though I’ve seen them more times than I can remember. I especially love the scene with Scotty being handed a mouse and him trying to talk to it. Again, one of the best Star Trek films out of the original six. If you’re one of the few people who’ve not seen this or are new to the genre, I definitely suggest you add this DVD to your collection.

Witness if you will the fourth (1968-1969) and final season of “The Wild Wild West”, still produced by Bruce Lansbury and that continues his updated and rugged treatment of the series with the paranoid political tales: “The Night of the Doomsday Formula” (guest starring Kevin McCarthy as the fanatical General Kroll) and “The Night of the Pistoleros” showing a future nations’ conflict triggered by Mexican look-alikes of American military officers.

You will meet James West’s new partners because Artemus Gordon is sent to Washington: secret agent/master of disguises Jeremy Pike (played by Charles Aidman) in four episodes (”The Night of the Camera”, “The Night of Miguelito’s Revenge” that is the last Dr. Loveless’ offering, “The Night of the Pelican”, “The Night of the Janus” that is Charles Aidman’s best performance as Baron Klaus Esterhauser and in which we catch a glimpse of James West’s training academy), secret agent/master of disguises Frank Harper (played by William Schallert) in the two parter “The Night of the Winged Terror”, and chemist/agent Ned Brown (played by Alan Hale Jr) in the gloomy “The Night of the Sabatini Death”.

Moreover, we will again foray into the off-centered and the macabre fantasies as the Hammer Productions-like “The Night of the Sedgewick Curse” dealing with the theme of the fountain of youth, the tribute to the classic “The Phantom of the Opera” in “The Night of the Diva” (Robert Conrad even sings “Buffalo Gals” with his friends Richard Cangey and Red West) and a veiled reference to Conan Doyle’s “The Hound of the Baskervilles” in “The Night of the Bleak Island”, and two Jules Verne-oriented ones in “The Night of the Kraken” (which highlights a Captain Nemo type of character) and “The Night of the Winged Terror, Part I & II” (describing a secret organization of subversive mad scientists ruled by a hypercephalic mastermind).

One episode, directed in late season 3, depicts Robert Conrad’s tragic fall while performing his stunt: “The Night of the Fugitives” (guest starring Simon Oakland).

Well here we are, the final adventures of James T West and Artemus Gordon. Hard to believe the series only ran 4 years. Growing up in New York, the reruns ran aplenty during the 70s. Sadly though, series co-star Ross Martin didn’t get to appreciate the whole season as he was side lined by a heart attack. Replacing him was a young Charles Aidman as Jeremy Pike who was as good at his trade as Arte (you get the impression he learned from the master himself) and others including Alan (the Skipper) Hale, John Dehner and William Schallert (Carson Drew, Nils Baris, Martin Lane) in a 2 part episode. Their names got billed in the ending credits in the episodes they appeared in though Martin continued to appear in the opening credits for the remainder of the run. Martin would recover to be able to do the sequel films made in 1979 and 1980, Wild Wild West Revisited and More Wild Wild West which according to http://www.tvshowsondvd.com will sadly not be included in this set. Fortunately, they are shown often enough on Encore Westerns so you can copy them yourself uncut (the prerecorded VHS tapes I believe are copy protected). Martin passed away soon after making the sequel films, but I am sure if we looked up him up on the IMDB we would find a lot of good stuff under his name including a villain on Wonder Woman in 1977, and an attempt to bring Charlie Chan back just before or after More Wild Wild West. So get this last season, and appreciate 4 years of one of the shortest yet popular Western series of the 1960s.

A trio of young idealistic germans breaks into houses of the wealthy, not to steal or inflict much damage but rather to rearrange the furniture in odd designs and leave haunting messages such as “Your life of Plenty will not go on for long” as a form of protest against the inequalities of capitalism. When on one occasion they are caught by a rich home owner, they kidnap him in order to avoid arrest but dont really know what to do with him. The young revolutionaries are no Baader-Meinhof. It is apparent they have no wish to hurt the middle-aged capitalist, though we fear that in order to “save their behinds” they might foolishly take some action that would plunge them into deeper trouble. But alongside this drama regarding the man’s fate, there is a philosophical story unfolding that is even more compelling. As it turns out the kidnapped man was not always a bourgeois. During the 60s revolts he was a student radical himself and identifies with the idealism of his abductors. Over the course of their conversations, he explains the mechanisms by which he ended up in his current situation. It is familiar to many of us.

One day, you want a car that doesn’t break down and some other conveniences. Then you have children and want security for them.

So this is a movie about how difficult it is to effect progressive change nowadays. There is (usually)no need for a police state to pounce on progressives, as the media and the sirens of commodity fetishism circumvent our disquiet. The activist’s message does not get heard in the big media, except for the passing derogatory remark. Television, on the one hand, numbs people and, on the other hand, makes them believe they must have certain commodities in order to be “somebody”. Faced with a populus distracted by all this glitter, the revolutionary, too, grows tired of waiting for people to wake up to reality, and finally, slowly slides down the same slippery slope as the german capitalist depicted here. All the easier since young people of this ilk tend to be extremely intelligent and can quickly rise in the system once they set their minds to it.

Even the capitalist realizes what a trap the sytem is. He is not happy. He collects things but does not even have the time to enjoy them. So, it would appear that one is faced with a dilemma, a catch-22. If we stay true to our ideals, we face poverty and insignificance. If we get “realistic” and join the system, we become food for the machine and live to purchase more things which we hope will save us from our hell.

The situation portrayed in this film speaks to the young and not so young whose banner reads “A Better World is Possible”. Revolts, like that of Seattle and the recent demonstrations against the war, flare up and die off again. The failure of “real” socialism and the momentary (I hope) ability to imagine a plausible alternative makes us timid and we feel daunted by the strength of the system vis a’ vis our powerlessness. This film explores that psychology.

The Edukators is a very interesting German film, directed by Hans Weingartner, about three young radicals whose ideals are put to the test. We at first observe them taking part in fairly commonplace demonstrations against global trade. These are people, however, who are determined to take things beyond the level of protest. Jan and Peter are friends who break into the homes of affluent people and, instead of stealing anything, simply rearrange the furniture and other items. They leave a calling card with the message, “Your days of plenty are numbered,” and sign it “The Edukators.” The premise is in itself fascinating and leads to some humorous scenes as well as provoking thought. The humor comes from seeing the absurd relocation of objects, such as putting a stereo in the refrigerator. This is, rather than conventional vandalism, a kind of performance art, meant to create uneasiness and self-examination on the part of the victims.

While Peter is out of town, his girlfriend Jule and Jan spend time together and become attracted to each other. After Jan introduces Jule to the Edukators’ tactics, Jule convinces him to help her “visit” the home of a businessman to whom she owes a large sum of money following a car accident. The man catches them and they end up kidnapping him, bringing Peter into the action. The rest of the film follows the three friends as they decide what to do with their victim and debate politics with him. Some of these discussions are interesting, though they inevitably follow a predictable course (”you are a parasite living off the poor” vs. “I have a right to what I earned,” to paraphrase). The businessman, however, moves from arguing with his captors to sympathizing with them, explaining that he was once a radical himself. Is this for real or merely a ploy to gain their trust? The romantic triangle further escalates the tension.

I liked the intellectual content of The Edukators; it reminds us of how few films today deal sympathetically with characters who are not only outside the system, but actively oppose it. Even better, the movie does not simply romanticize the radicals and demonize the businessman. It actually raises more questions than it answers, which is probably a good thing. It is not a perfect film; some of the situations seem a bit contrived (e.g. one of them is an expert at deactivating burglar alarms because he used to work for a security company). The ending is more of a clever punchline than a serious resolution of matters. Still, it is very engaging and well-acted and puts a new face on the old dilemma of participating in vs. fighting mainstream society.

I remember watching Tales From the Crypt when I was younger, and decided to bag the whole 7 seasons. Some seasons seem a whole lot better than others but overall it is a wonderful occupy and will preserve you entertained for a long time!

I actually went to a live Perilous Concert at Roundhay Park, Leeds, England. The concert was fantastic and one of the most essential moments of my life. Michael was sensational, not only does he recede, express and dance like no one else but he transforms the whole arena with his fantastic stage presence. You are literally seeing one of the best performers on stage ever, if not the best!

It would be difficult to win this brilliance on DVD, not to mention the atmosphere but I would say the Bucharest Perilous concert DVD comes very cessation. I have watched it numerous times and even now it brings out all kinds of emotions. The quality is advantageous and you secure to study the magnificence of Michael Jackson plus the incredible reactions from the crowd so you can literally feel the atmosphere.

This concert is quite simply a point in history, a time when a musician could bring out pure emotion in a crowd through excellence in music and dance.

Yesterday. I enter Circuit City at Union Square in NYC with my wife, who is from Japan, and this DVD is on three modestly sized plasma TVs a the top of the escalator–which is crowded with mesmorized viewers.

We could not back it. The demonstrate was so awesome that we found ourselves standing there, entranced.

My wife do it correctly when she said to me in Japanese, “Whatever he does in life, people will always be facinated with his performances,” meaning no matter what freakish things he does to or with his body, it unprejudiced unimaginative wont finish the fact that he truly is the King of Pop (though I must then appoint Prince as the Emperor of Pop–sorry Michael) .

That really summed it up; we were watching one of the all time grand masters of performance, and indeed were lucky to be alive when his career was in beefy swing.

Michael Jackson is one of the all time greats–like Harry Houdini, Fred Astaire, Jimmy Hendrix, or Miles Davis. He’s a master of the stage, and–though I convey with myself–has a extraordinary musical ability that can’t succor but mesmorize.

On this DVD, there is of course a lot of lip synching. This isn’t so noteworthy a music concert as a stage indicate. And as a stage explain, it’s one of the greatest of all time. Impartial seeing Jackson dance to his acquire music is worth your money.

*****There was one musical rupture that was facinating, though it wasn’t performed by Jackson. At one point in the performance, he shares the stage with a solo guitarist–apparrently impartial for effect–but the guitarist completely takes over the stage. Jackson points him out to a stage hand, who tries to close the solo, and the guitarist unprejudiced keeps going with a fabulous, indignant, crazy solo.

It’s elegant rare to scrutinize a solo like that unless you’re in the biz. I immediately idea of Mike Stern–who this was not–totally dominating the expose. Jackson should have let him go a bit longer, but instead started the next bit and had the guitarist’s breeze pulled.

Bottom Line: I reveal that says a lot about Jackson’s draw of performing–he’s a perfectionist; it’s all planned out, and it follows the concept exactly. Other performers would have played counterpoint to that solo (as the guitarist was starting to do when Jackson ‘interrupted), shared the limelight, and acknowledged that this is what musical performance is really all about–that there’s really no such thing as a solo artist, unless of course you’re Michael Jackson.

Anyway, I can’t back but give this DVD 5 stars on sheer greatness.

I ordered this movie unhurried enough that it should have arrived AFTER Christmas but with the Hasty shipping (I paid for standard shipping!) the movie arrived in time for Santa to assert it to my youngest daughter! She LOVES the movie and the itsy-bitsy My Miniature Pony figure that came with the movie!

I placed my order on 2/27 and as of 3/30, have not received the merchandise. I have also sent numerous e-mails to the seller, all going unreplied. I would NOT recommend this seller to anyone. Very dishonest!!!

This should be a broad box location when it’s released in November. Many tremendous episodes from the first season of Family Guy since it was resurected on FOX after steller DVD sells and titanic ratings on Adult Swim. Any fans of animation or honest spacious comedy should remove this one up when it comes out. Should invent a colossal Christmas explain.
